Maybe we should call it 'ash' now?

Ok well here's the news:

Chester has decided to leave his post at dirt magazine to pursue his career as a builder for CNDG.

He's been stressing over the mag and he really enjoys building alot more, so I hope he is happier now and there are no hard feelings. I was a bit upset at first when I read the note, but I am also kinda relieved - I wouldn't want to work with him if he wasn't enjoying himself, and now he is, and we all still love him so its all good in the end. To be honest, I was struggling to meet the deadlines for this month, dunno about Os, but it was a strain and a burden at times.

So.. what to do about dirt?

With the founder/creator, page and layout designer and chief editor gone, we were in a bit of a mess. Basically I saw three options;

1 - Let dirt die.

2 - Assemble a new team and return next year, continuing as an in-world magazine.

3 - Develop it into a blog, jointly written by Osayo and myself, with articles, reviews and all the usual goodness of dirt, combined with some fresh new talent on the writing and modelling front.

We plumped, as you might have expected/be very glad to hear, for option number 3. I am in the process of setting up the new blog using Blogger and we will be looking at maybe 4 or 5 writers in total, one review or article a fortnight each (or something, nothing has been decided yet). As always, dirt will continue to be un-affiliated with any in-world store, and all products we feature will be because we like them and want to show off.

Osayo's Travel and my Advice columns/features will continue and will be expanded - it is possible to fit much more onto a webpage than into the page of a magazine in-world. So, dirt will be bigger, better and easier to access, no need to ask one of us for a copy or find a vendor - just click the link that will soon be appearing in the Links section (oddly enough).

As for hiring new talent - well, we can't offer you much in the way of pay - if/how we will sell ad space on the blog is yet to be resolved - but you will be doing something you (hopefully) love and working with fun, exciting and sexy people. Just IM me if you are interested in writing or modelling for the blog - details are to be finalised but its always nice to have a list of hopeful applicants handy :)

Dirt issue #3 - the Sexxx issue - will not be released in SL. However, before you lynch us all, you will be pleased to know that our work for that issue will form the basis of our first posts on the blog so you will still get the best bits.

I will of course keep you updated on our progress and will be letting you know when the blog is opened and ready.

Esmie xXx
